Harry Potter and the Three Hundred Mile Day Trip

Museum of Science
Boston, MA

I spent the day with my family as we made the trek to Boston to see the Harry Potter exhibit at the Museum of Science.

While I do not like to books and loathe the films, it was a well done exhibit. There are wonderful pieces from the film and it is well put together, even for a casual non-fan.

Just one question...

Why does a museum of "Science" need a Star Wars space ship hanging from the ceiling?

Boston, on the other hand, looked like an icy apocalypse, which may be an improvement. Maybe they could have used this city instead of Pittsburgh for "The Road".

And now for something completely different...

It seems that I am having another Bell's Palsy spell.

Yay me!

Wish me an easy recovery.

Really Feeling This

Happy Valentine's Day!

Dinner and Breakfast

I am trying to cook more.

For both cash and health reasons.

Dinner was curried vegetables with somen noodles.

Breakfast was poached eggs over toast.

I am fat AND happy.

What's the Buzz?

I love Google. They consistently provide wonderful free services and excellent low cost solutions.

I am excited about Buzz too. (Which seems to be a better combination of Twitter and Facebook without the annoyances of either but with some limitations.)

That being said, and I know they are all about the "cloud", why can't the build integrated iPhone apps?

I understand the limitations that Apple puts upon them, but that is restricted to Google Voice.

I want everything that Google offers to be available as an app, not just Maps, Earth, and Search.

Is that too much to ask?

Dreams

Waking up after immediately having a dream with a soundtrack (in this case, Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah) makes me fear what the rest of the day may bring.

Running for Senate

I am a douche that you can believe in.

I believe in change.

Quarters, dimes, nickles, even pennies.

I believe in change.

You, my friends, can believe in change!

Because, my fellow New Yorkers, if my opponent is elected, this will be all the money that you have!

Vote for hope! Vote for change!

Vote for me!

Declaring My Candidacy

I will bring hope and change and I will promise you that I will not be a bigoted abusing douchebag that would choose to plunge the state into a constitutional crisis just to further my own notional power.

I am looking to relocate to North
Queens as soon as possible.

Anyone have a futon I can crash on?

Dear NYS Senate:

A non-binding resolution asking the Feds to have the KSM trial somewhere other than New York?

Really?

Because we don't have the cash? We do.

Because NYPD cannot create an adequate security situation? They can!

Because a military tribunal is more appropriate? Defend that statement.

Well done, such a deliberative body.

Reasons to like Twitter

1) Less adoption by children.
2) Fewer awful changes to the UI than Facebook.
3) No Farmville.
4) Less SPAM and more pr0n.

I think that is enough for me.

Wasting Time

I can't believe that I am wasting a Saturday to go see this.

First of all, I don't like Harry Potter at all.

Secondly, Boston in February isn't my idea of a good time.

That being said, it is something that my family wants to do...and sometimes you do things for family that you would never do otherwise.

Maybe...

Dow Industrials Post First Close Below 10,000 Since Nov. 4

Stocks fell broadly on Wall Street on Monday on concerns
about government debt in Europe, and the Dow Jones industrial
average closed below the 10,000 mark for the first time since
Nov. 4.

The Dow industrials were down 103.69 points, or 1 percent, at
9,908.54 at the closing bell. The Standard & Poor's 500-stock
index and the Nasdaq were also lower for the day.

You know, the markets have been in turmoil since the election of Scott Brown...

Just sayin'.

RIP Rep Murtha

Yahoo is reporting that John Murtha has passed away at the age of 77.

Who Dat?

Yeah, I don't care.

I did have a good time with ECS and FAU (and I love that whenever I think of Phil Simms from now on, I will think of ECS saying,"Shut Up Phil Simms!") and while the game was okay, there was only one commercial of note, which was the Google ad.

Which prompted playing the Google search game...

Which led to this...

And somewhere, the baby Tim Tebow weeps.
