I loved The Southern Reach Trilogy. Scenes from those books stay with me. VanDerMeer’s language about the way the light in Florida has are particular quality is always close to the front of my conscious. That being said, this was a fine film. Beautiful and weird (in the sense of the genre not odd or off putting) while asking some very real questions about why we do what we do. However, it was not the Annihilation that I had in my mind and suffered by comparison. Again, very good film. Probably a great film if I had not read the books. #Annihilation #BooksAndMovies #NewWeird
