If they can't do it, Who Can?

Being the child of a broken home, and a divorced man myself, I had always looked to Al and Tipper as the paradigm of the happy marriage. While he was inventing the Internet (I know, I am going there), she was raising their children (and making censorship cool again) and they seemed to work...but now...

All my hopes are dashed.

If these two couldn't make it work? Who can? I looked to two couples as of late for hope...Al and Tipper and Spencer and Heidi and in three days, they have been separated! What is a boy to do?

Should I stop believing in love, now that the inspiration for Love Story has fallen apart?

I am crushed and I will never recover from this.

Al and Tipper Gore to separate - Mike Allen - POLITICO.com:

"Al and Tipper Gore, whose playful romance enlivened Washington and the campaign trail for a quarter century, have decided to separate after 40 years of marriage, the couple told friends Tuesday."

  1. So wrong. When you get to 40 years in, you just suffer the rest of the way to death.

I mean, what are they going to do now, date other people?

  2. I would argue that being married to Tipper for 40 years would be akin to a slow death, so...

Maybe Al can find some good for him...like Elizabeth Banks!

  3. Ewwww. Creepy Laura Bush fantasies? I don't think Al is that kind of guy.

  4. Maybe he would be interested in Dr. Dana? Or is it wrong to even think that?

  5. Seriously, did you ever really believe in love???

  6. I did! Then I realized that the Little Red Headed Girl broke Charlie Browns heart...and that Sloth didn't really love Chunk...and my life became a dark place, devoid of emotion...

  7. Wait, what?? Sloth doesn't love Chunk? Now I don't believe in love, either! Thanks. I'm ruined.

  8. Sloth just wanted the Baby Ruth...and would say anything to get it...

  9. Sloth. So typical of a man...saying anything to get something. That may explain why I swore off dating for over a year. Of course now that I have this knowledge, perhaps I can use it to my advantage...hmmmm....

  10. Karma...

While men may be awful and stupid, women have the tendency to be...
