Olivia Munn
Well, there is a new controversy regarding TDSwJS's Olivia Munn.
MC Chris is one of the voice performers for Williams Street, and he performs Nerd Core Hip Hop, and your ability to tell me to STFU based on your love for someone who is a bit of a hack is kinda cool.
How is calling "MC Chris" "DJ Chris" proof that she is a hack? At best its a typo. And what if MC Chris is a hack?
This whole thing is just silly and kind of an extension of the Madonna/whore standard that we apply to women all the time.
Yes, we want good looking geeky chicks who can crack jokes about comics and Star Wars...but whoaaaa, who let her get so high and mighty about our precious geekdom??? And oh, oh, oh she called him "DJ Chris"??? Well f**k her.
She is an accomplished TV personality who has achieved more notoriety in her 20s than I can ever hope to in my life. Plus, she has parlayed her self reported love of geeky things into jobs on two TV shows and a book deal.
And FTR I don't "love" her. I happen to think she is funny and good looking, but beyond that, I hardly know her.
I defend her only because I think tearing her apart shows the most ugly side of the internet. We love people and build them up until they step out of some artificial idea of who we think they are (or should be) and then we slam them.
It's like saying "Yes little girl, it's cute and hot when you dress up in a metal bra, but who told you that you could open your G** D*** mouth and express an opinion?"
A) I don't understand how this proves she is a "fake nerd".
