Twilight Men

Yesterday I saw one of the worst documentaries that I have ever seen but it did provide me with something that was hilarious.

According to the film, in the mid to late Sixties, gay men were referred to as Twilight Men as they had to live in the shadows, et cetera.

It may be inappropriate for me to find this funny but...

It does help put Stephanie Meyer in context, doesn't it?

TEA Expresses A Film Review

He feels about it the same way his father does.

We both loved Toy Story 3 by the way.

This Made Me Go "Ha Ha"

All Over Albany has a link to a woman at Sage who is using Twilight in her COLLEGE LEVEL ENGLISH COURSES and it made me think bad thoughts about Sage. Wanting to be fair, I went to the Wikipedia page and saw this below. The section in bold was (in all likelihood) written by someone who has a connection to this *cough* fine educational institution.

Russell Sage College - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia:

"The self-contained 10-acre (40,000m2) campus is located in the historic district of Troy, New York with 19th century brownstone residences, Victorian gates, formal courtyards and walled gardens. This campus is on two blocks and is a safe campus for the most part because there hasn't been any crimes. However, there aren't many businesses thriving around Russell Sage College, which means you won't have many things to do. The area around it is pretty ghetto. There is a bowling lane, numerous antique and jewelry stores, a public library nearby, and several independent coffee shops in the area. There is easy access to public transportation for students to get around. It is better for students to have their own cars or network with people who have cars to get around."

Why yes, I am a douche. Thanks for noticing.

Twilight, really?

In Borders yesterday, I was surrounded by Twilight stuff. It was...well...terrifying.

Now, I realize that some of this is on me because I do not understand the appeal of the franchise...

A) Dude, you're over 100 and you want to date teenagers and go to high school? What kind of ridiculous premise is that?

B) They "sparkle"?

C) Vampires with a conservative Christian overtone make...perfect sense.

Yes, I have a bias here. But...can I be that disconnected from the larger culture or is this one of those badnesses that I am immune from because I really could give a rats ass about what teenagers think is cool. Teenagers are rarely cool themselves and the Tweens (they are the presumed market, right? Tweens and single women with lots of cats.) are never cool.

My hope is that this will be dead and buried before TEA becomes involved, because....I would hate to have to stake him.
