Tracy listed her top five songs for The Singles Project.
I'll bite.
1. Clair de Lune ~ Claude Debussy: I first learned this song when I was 14 years old and performed for the Guild. Impressionist, poetic, and epic. It's what a sunrise would sound like.
2. Prelude in C# minor ~ Sergei Rachmaninoff: A song about a man who is buried alive and wakes up in his coffin: it's dark as Clair de Lune is light. Compelling stuff.
3. Hey Pretty ~ Poe/Polyester Bride ~ Liz Phair/Here and Now ~ Letters to Cleo: All songs that remind me of being hot, single, and in my late twenties. It's a three way tie.
Hey Pretty
4. La Vie en Rose ~ Edith Piaf: Exemplifies my life: lots of shit but always a happy outlook on things.
5. Ave Maria ~ Schubert: Will forever remind of my mother.
A great list, and a departure from the the usual pop singles that I have seen.
Thanks, Tracy!
